Meliá Hotels International has announced the opening of its twenty-eighth hotel in Cuba for the end of 2017 in the area of the iconic International Hotel of Varadero. The signing of the agreement with the company Gran Caribe was attended by special guests, the founder and president of the Spanish chain Gabriel Escarrer Juliá and the vice-president Gabriel Escarrer Jaume at the recent inauguration of the hotel Meliá Jardines del Rey, in the framework of the XXXVth International Tourism Festival FITCuba 2015, which will take place on May 5-7 at Jardines del Rey.

Meliá Hotels International and Cuba: 25 years of history On 10 May 1990, the first hotel by Meliá Hotels International in Cuba, the Sol Palmeras opened its doors in Varadero.
