Meliá to host the 1st Underwater Photography Contest in Varadero

Attention divers! This time Meliá teams up with the Gaviota Marina to host the 1st Underwater Photography Contest to take place from the 1st up to the 5th of October 2019 in the country’s most celebrated beach, Varadero.

The contest includes two categories, Fauna, which will be mainly fish but not exclusively as a multitude of invertebrate species such as turtles, birds and large marine mammals may be included. The other category is Environment, where the purpose is to reflect the general aspect of different types of marine bottoms (coral reefs, sunken ships, algae prairie, sandy bottoms, etc.)

Important notice, participants must be certified divers by the member organizations of the RSTC or the CMAS and possess an updated aptness medical record.

There will be a first prize winner in each category. Prizes consist of a trophy designed by an artisan and a two people stay at one Meliá hotel in Cuba for each category.
