Meliá Hotels International and Cuba: 25 years of history

Meliá Hotels International and Cuba: 25 years of history On 10 May 1990, the first hotel by Meliá Hotels International in Cuba, the Sol Palmeras opened its doors in Varadero. Since then, 25 years have passed and today, the chain boasts 25 hotels located in eight of the best tourist destinations on the island, with almost 13, 000 rooms and four of its most renowned brands: 3 Paradisus, 14 Meliá, 8 Sol and 2 Tryp.

Within the framework of the Cuba Tourism Fair at Meliá Jardines del Rey, home of FITCUBA 2015, the hotel company will celebrate its 25th anniversary with guests from all over the world: tour operators that have been collaborating with us for years, journalists and key figures from the sector.

The event will take place on 5 May at 7 p.m. There will be insights into the joint history of the hotel chain and the largest island of the Antilles – a journey which has spanned 25 years. There will be emotional speeches, awards and fabulous shows, through which Meliá Hotels International aims to thank each and every person who has supported it along its journey in Cuba.
