The creation of MESOL Gestión Hotelera Turística, the new Meliá Hotels International importation company, will help optimise the management of hotels operated by the Spanish chain on the Caribbean island.
Set up at the start of this year, MESOL will focus on several product types, including food, drinks, products for the arts, sport, recreation and entertainment, linen, culinary supplies, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, protective products and supplies for maintenance and technical services.
The items and plan for imports has been closely coordinated with the hotel teams. The company has also been able to leverage the long-term relationships of Meliá Hotels International with prestigious suppliers while also creating partnerships with new suppliers. Although Spain is currently the principal source of imports, MESOL plans to expand its reach to suppliers in other Caribbean and Latin American countries while also prioritising products from Cuba itself whenever possible.
MESOL will carry out all the activities required to bring products into Cuba and then also take care of their storage and transportation. Optimising procurement and delivery logistics will allow Meliá Hotels International to maintain the high service quality that is characteristic of its hotels throughout Cuba. This new initiative reflects the company’s commitment to optimising the holiday experience for every guest while also contributing to the development of Cuban tourism.
