New developments at Meliá Cuba in Varadero

New developments at Meliá Cuba in Varadero

Cuba, the tourist destination par excellence, opened its doors to the world, as it does every year, to host another International Tourism Show.

FITCUBA is the most important trade event for the tourism industry to be held in the country and provided a showcase for the beauty, hospitality and variety of the Cuban landscape, as well as the facilities designed for the enjoyment of both national and international holidaymakers.

This event was the ideal opportunity for the Meliá Hotels International Cuba chain to present a series of new developments at its hotels and resorts, in accordance with client preferences and requirements.

The main changes consisted of improvements to the accommodation buildings, renovations and new facilities at its establishments in Cuba, with the aim of enhancing the luxury product and positioning its hotels more highly among this market’s leading agencies.

The Meliá brand offers fresh and innovative experiences for visitors who are on a business trip, on a romantic getaway or who are enjoying a family holiday. Their select range of cuisine is one of the aspects of quality and satisfaction that makes them so special. Some boast a Yhi Spa and Royal Service.

Another of the most awaited events was the opening, on 15 August, of the Meliá Marina Varadero, Hotel and Apartments, a 5-star all-inclusive resort. The contemporary architecture includes references to the world of sailing, constituting an original concept developed around a marina project with a capacity for approximately 1, 200 moorings and 13 docking pontoons.

The hotel consists of a main building and another of welcoming apartments located on the West Side of the Marina, enabling guests to combine long stays on land with life on board. It has a total of 549 rooms between hotel and apartments, from where guests can enjoy beautiful views of the Marina and the Punta de Hicacos peninsula.

Guests can walk alongside the marina, along the quays to admire the scenery, or through the hotel shopping gallery, visiting the different designer shops and restaurants, open to hotel guests, to those arriving on their yachts and to tourists staying elsewhere. The beach bar, the spectacular swimming pool and its gym are also key attractions for an exclusive stay at the marina.

It is worth highlighting that in addition to being the only hotel in the area to be surrounded by a spectacular marina and tourist village, it offers access to a beautiful beach, giving the resort its special character, as it is the only marina in Cuba to offer beach facilities.

The reopening of the Royal Service at the Paradisus Princesa del Mar was one more cause for satisfaction for Meliá. The news was announced during a presentation by Claudia Luchinger, a representative for the luxury segment, who explained the significant extension of the Royal Service at the hotel, with its new modern luxury suites and, for the first time in Cuba, what are known as the Garden Swim Up Pool Junior Suites, offering direct access to the swimming pool from the garden of each of these 20 rooms covering an area of 63 m2, with hydromassage tub and terrace with garden and Balinese bed, located in the exclusive Royal Service area.

This major renovation process is one more example of the hard work and commitment towards meeting the varied requirements of national and international tourism, which are increasingly defining the facilities provided by the hotel chain in Cuba.

These new developments represent a change that is not only reflected in a new image but that can be seen in all of the services with which Meliá Hotels International Cuba welcomes every one of its visitors and inspires them to return.
