If there is anything that has made Varadero famous over time, it’s the infinite stretches of fine sand and crystal-clear waters. The top sun and beach destination on the island or the “blue beach” as many call it. However, Varadero has much more to offer visitors than just water sports and activities.
Located in the centre of the Hicacos peninsula, Varadero Golf Club is the only one of its kind in Cuba and is the hub for all golfers on the island.
From May 17 to 20, the course will be hosting the Meliá Las Américas Golf Cup. Participants will compete over 4 days for a grand prize, as well as enjoying numerous extra activities and all the fantastic services at the Meliá Las Américas, an all-inclusive five-star hotel for adults only that specialises in golfing holidays.
In June and September, the course will host two Meliá Las Américas Golf Weeks (June 14 to 21 and September 20 to 27) which will consist of practice rounds, competitions with great prizes, days playing with Cuban golfers and excursions to destinations near Varadero.
The season will end with the Meliá Cuba Golf Cup from October 18 to 21, another opportunity for golfers from all over the world to improve their game and test their skills against rivals.
Varadero Golf Club is a professional 18-hole course over approximately 60 hectares of land, and is both an accessible course for amateurs and a challenging course for expert golfers. Famous international golfers such as the Australian Greg Norman or the Spaniard Miguel Ángel Jiménez have played its 18 holes and enjoyed the beauty of its design and setting.
If you love to play golf by the sea, this is your chance. Join us for any of the four dates. Meliá Cuba officially declares its tournament season open! We can’t wait to see you!
