Meliá Cuba hotels are starting 2020 with a fresh look

Several Meliá Cuba hotels have been redeveloped and refurbished to bring them up to standard for the peak season. In some cases, this work, which has mostly been completed or is in the final phase, has included redesigning products to ensure they reflect the tourism sector’s most up-to-date trends.

On the Hicacos peninsula—the main sun and beach destination in Cuba and also for Meliá on the island—the Paradisus Varadero eco-resort now looks fresher and more welcoming. Its central building areas—lobby, reception, lobby bar and reflecting pools—have been further adapted to guest requirements, as have its ceilings, roof and decorative elements. The bedrooms have also been improved, and the YHI Spa’s booths and hydrothermal circuit areas have been updated.

The two hotel swimming pools and their associated eatery have been completely renovated. And the main attraction for Paradisus Varadero guests, the beach, now provides more comfortable furniture and a better balance of shaded spots throughout the area.

The adjacent The Reserve at Paradisus Varadero and Royal Service at Paradisus Varadero have not missed out on the refurbishment process since The Reserve bedrooms have been updated with new furniture, textiles and decor and the Royal Service function rooms have been refreshed. Work is expected to continue in 2020 on the specialised restaurants, buffet and snack bar.

In the northern cays in the province of Villa Clara, two other Meliá hotels have also been renovated. Bedroom transformations, including new furniture, and changes to common areas, such as the lobby and other facilities, have been the focus at Meliá Cayo Santa María. Neighbouring Sol Cayo Santa María also boasts fully improved bedrooms and areas to ensure guests enjoy superior comfort throughout their holiday.

The wave of changes continued in the Sol Río de Luna y Mares Hotel set in the stunning Esmeralda Beach area in Holguín. Refurbishment of La Pinta beach restaurant and guest rooms on several levels is well underway.

Once this work is complete, we’re confident that all our visitors will find even more reasons to always prefer staying in Meliá Cuba establishments. As ever, we will keep our collaborators posted with updates. Please stay in touch!
