Meliá Cuba presents new features at FITCuba 2024

From May 1 to May 5, the Jardines del Rey archipelago hosted this year’s edition of the FITCuba International Tourism Trade Fair, the most important event in the travel industry in Cuba. At the event we shared news about several innovations and projects that will grow and strengthen the Meliá Cuba portfolio.

Some of our most prominent recent openings include the Meliá Trinidad Península, Sol Turquesa Beach (Holguín), INNSiDE Habana Catedral and the Sevilla Habana Affiliated by Meliá, allowing us to continue consolidating our presence throughout Cuba and offer travellers a chance to discover both the most important historical cities and the most popular sun and beach destinations.

We have also carried out an ambitious renovation plan that has included hotels such as Sol Palmeras, Meliá Varadero, Meliá Las Antillas, Meliá Las Américas, Meliá Habana and Meliá Cayo Coco.

At FITCuba 2024 we highlighted our commitment to sustainability and technological efficiency, as well as our brand diversification strategy in Cuba. An important step in regard to the latter was the opening of the first INNSiDE by Meliá hotel in Havana, and the same spirit is behind the Plaza Hotel project in Havana as part of The Meliá Collection portfolio. Next year, the rebranding of the Jagua Hotel in Cienfuegos will also be completed as it is converted into the INNSiDE Cienfuegos Jagua.

We will also begin to manage two new hotels in Cuba. In Cayo Coco, the hotel that has hosted the FITCuba 2024 event, will now begin to operate as the Meliá Costa Rey. This five-star hotel will have an exclusive The Level area for adults only and is located alongside Las Coloradas Beach, making it ideal for anyone travelling with their family, for honeymoons or for events and conventions. The second addition will be Sol Hicacos Varadero, designed for people aged over 16 after the transformation of the old Turquesa Hotel.

Upcoming hotel: Sol Hicacos Varadero

To satisfy brand standards in the transformation process, the hotel set up its own import organisation, something that will undoubtedly ensure it maintains the high service and facility standards that characterize the hotels we manage.

As always, and especially at FITCuba 2024, Meliá Hotels International Cuba ratified its commitment to hotels that preserve and promote the natural beauty, rich culture and fascinating history of the island, the charisma and joy of its people, and its general hospitality and friendliness.
