Who says that Cuba isn’t a shopping destination? The best cigars and rums in the world, a wide selection of arts and crafts, stylish boutiques, jewellery, musical instruments and competitive prices for tourists are just some of the attractions for shopaholics. Not only in Havana, but in Varadero, Trinidad, Holguín and even at the easternmost tip of the Island: Santiago de Cuba, shoppers will find a whole host of local and truly authentic treasures reflecting the heritage, creativity and passion of the Caribbean.

The International Tourism Fair FITCUBA 2015 will be focusing on water activities, Italy and the tourist destination Jardines del Rey. Located on the north coast of the central province of Ciego de Ávila, Jardines del Rey is the fastest-growing tourist destination in Cuba. It impresses visitors with its biodiversity, conservation of ecosystems and numerous beaches with warm transparent waters of the Coco and Guillermo keys where there are four all-inclusive Meliá and Sol hotels. The event headquarters will be at Meliá Jardines del Rey, which, with 1176 rooms, is the largest Meliá Hotels International hotel worldwide.

The second ‘Golf Meliá Las Américas Cup’ will take place between 13 and 16 May at Meliá Las Américas, the only hotel with direct access to Varadero Golf Club, an 18-hole par-72 course on the seafront. The competition is for over 18 golf fans with official handicap certification endorsed by the club or association they belong to. Gentlemen with a handicap of 26 or less and ladies with a handicap of 36 or less will be allowed to participate. The tournament includes a practice round and two days of competition. The competition will consist of stroke play in the ladies and gentlemen’s categories and participants will be grouped according to their handicap
