Do you enjoy being on the road? Are you up to discover new ways of living, new ways after all? If you are an adventurer, an adrenaline enthusiast and fearless being, keep reading, this blog post is definitely for you. I want to introduce you two excursions at the purest creole style, offered by the travel agency Gaviota Tours. These can be booked from any Cayo Santa María hotel.
Jeep safari
Depart by bus at 8 am to Caibarién, to enjoy a day of sightseeing. Be prepared for a scenic drive in jeep, full of rural roads and stimulating views of the countryside. Take time to enjoy visiting a Cuban farm and to witness activities like cow milking, horseback riding and poultry feeding. You can have a lunch consisting of creole food -roast pork is a must! – in a rural restaurant of the zone. Then you can relax yourself and take a nice bath in a local river. To culminate, return to Caibarién by road once more and then travel to the hotel by bus. The approximate time of arrival is 18.00 hrs.
Motonatura/ Micronatura
An air conditioned bus will leave you at the rental point at 9.30 am. Motorcycle (optional) to the cave Pelo de Oro, the only cavern in Santa María, and explore the values of the local nature. Arrive in the protected area and visit the paths La Aguada de Bagá y Artistas del Bosque. Before returning to the hotels, you will have spare time in an exclusive beach area and the opportunity to bathe. Arrive in the hotel at 13.30 hrs.
If you really want to get to know this Caribbean Island do not waste the opportunity to drive across the road ant to get lost in some points. The surroundings of Santa María are far more beautiful and revealing than we can think of. All Inclusive Resorts are beyond exclusivity but there is so much more of Cuba to enjoy and to experience. Spectator or expert? You decide!
