During 2017, the regional division composed by 27 hotels in 8 destinations of the Caribbean nation was recipient of prestigious travel awards, endorsed by both tourism professionals and clients.
An example of this is Meliá las Dunas’ recognition as Cuba’s Leading Resort by the World Travel Awards committee. This five-star resort located in Cayo Santa María is recommended for families, weddings, honeymoons and incentive trips. Its great location and high-end service standards place it as one of the hotels of reference in the region.
Within the year, 11 hotels received certificates of excellence by TripAdvisor.
This official recognition, accounts for the quality and quantity of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least a year.
The awardees included Paradisus Princesa del Mar, Sol Río de Luna y Mares, Sol Palmeras, Meliá Las Antillas, Meliá Santiago de Cuba, Meliá Cayo Coco, Meliá Marina Varadero, Meliá Habana, Meliá Las Américas, Paradisus Río de Oro and Sol Cayo Coco. The first five from the list above were equally acclaimed by Holiday Check’s users as the most popular among German-speaking travelers.
As a corporate division, Meliá Cuba was appointed as Best Day’s Key Partner in the Caribbean region. A winning category among the Mexican tourism industry prestigious #TravelAwards.
