Pure air at Meliá Cuba hotels

Pure air at Meliá Cuba hotels

On declaring all guest rooms at the hotel Meliá Cohiba as non-smoking, Meliá Hotels International Cuba has initiated a non-smoking policy which is due to be extended to other establishments under its management.

A detailed study and a cleaning and decontamination process preceded the initiative, which includes various areas of this five star hotel overlooking Havana’s Malecón, with the exception of the smoking venues: Bar Relicario, the Cigar Lounge and the Aqua Bar.

Sol Palmeras, in Varadero, will be the first Meliá Cuba resort hotel to guarantee 100% pure air in its guest rooms.

For two years now, this hotel has not permitted smoking in its air-conditioned common areas, whilst smokers can use balconies, terraces and an open area in the lobby.

At the other Meliá Cuba establishments, studies continue to be carried out on a case-by-case basis to assess the possibility of implementing this policy, which is becoming increasingly popular among the world’s largest hotel chains and guarantees a much healthier environment for everyone
