“New Year, new life” recites a popular saying among Cubans, meaning that no matter how hard the previous 12 months were, the beginning of January is always an opportunity to achieve new goals and dreams.
For #MeliaCuba, 2018 will be a special year and not only because most hotels affected by hurricane Irma have come back with a newer look but the materialization of one of the hottest news in the travel industry during 2017: “Melia will expand to the center of Cuba”.
It’s a fact, with the kick off of the year, we have incorporated hotels in Cienfuegos and Camaguey to our accommodation portfolio in the island. Now culture and history enthusiasts could explore the wonders of these two heritage cities and stay in comfortable facilities located within its historical centers.

Celebrations will begin in May with the start of the Golf season. From 16 to 19 May 2018, the Fifth Meliá Las Américas Golf Cup will be taking place, organized at the hotel which boasts of direct access to the Varadero Golf Club.
A huge party just for singles at Meliá Las Antillas will follow. From 2nd to 9th June there’ll be opportunity to make new friends in a happy, creative and good-humored environment. From Saturday to Saturday; a whole week to share in this hotel located on the best beach in Cuba.
The traditional Argentina Week will be back at Sol Palmeras. From 18 to 23 June 2018 the culture of the Southern country will be celebrated once again in Varadero, with its usual activity programme. This is an ideal opportunity to enjoy the experience of Cuba with an Argentinean flavor.
In September the traditional celebrations of Mexican Independence will come back. Tryp Habana Libre and Meliá Cohiba repeat as hosts to highlight the best of Aztec culture: culinary and cocktail tastings, traditional music, dancing and much more.
The arrival of fall will bring the sixth OKTOBERFEST International Beer Festival also in Meliá Las Antillas. The week-long attractive programme for the event includes tasting several brands of beer, participation games, special dinners, a food festival, dance classes and fun competitions that end with choosing the Beer King and Queen.
The event season by Meliá Hotels Cuba will close with the traditional Meliá Cuba Golf Cup, which in 2018 will be held for the ninth time.
