You can never say goodbye to the summer when it comes to Cuba, and this is not only due to the high heat levels but the mood that lives in the Island, regardless of the season. That is why celebrations, for example, are always part of our day to day. This time, with September just around the corner, I would like to invite you all to celebrate Mexico’s Independence with Melia Cuba.
The event, – Mexican Parties- is taking place at Tryp Habana Libre and Meliá Cohiba from September 11th to 17th, this time on its second edition. Several representatives of the Mexican embassy, and Mezcal brands like Zignum are to be in attendance.
An event with a program that includes surprises such as cooking and cocktail shows, traditional music, dancing, athletes from both countries get-together and many more activities is an event you do not want to miss.
Let’s make a little close up to the itinerary just to point out the highlights:
After the presentation of the program on the first day (September 11th) flavors and culture will mix in a Mexican/Cuban cocktail show, the entrance is free.
On September 13th we will get to know how the Aztec nation has inspired so many great champions and how united are our own local champions with those of the beloved Mexican country.
My personal favorite day of the event would be September 14th, when a conversational space about the similarities and connections between Cuban and Mexican literature is taking place. The meeting is to be held at Bar Siboney, also with free entrance. At 20.00 hrs that evening a prestigious Mexican chef will amaze us with a special dinner in which the flavors of Mexico will star alongside the spectacular views of restaurant Sierra Maestra.
To almost conclude the celebrations, September 15th, will have a Mexican-inspired fashion show. Those who are celebrating the joy of love surely will have a date on the last day of the event with the greatest songs of romantic compositors of both countries being performed by young Cuban voices.
Now my mind can’t stop thinking about Pedro Vargas and Agustin Lara, if I were to choose some of the country of Mariachis to be delighted. A great cultural fusion show with the best features of Cuba and Mexico will close the event and of course, Buena Vista Social Club and an orchestra of mariachis will harmonize the evening at Habana Cafe of Meliá Cohiba.
Everything from Tequila and Mezcal, mariachis and melodies that say Mexico everywhere, will be gathered at Tryp Habana Libre and Meliá Cohiba as part of this glorious celebration. With Meliá Cuba as host, join the party and celebrate!
